Harley FX Super Glide Boattail Rear Fender Seat Tail Section Blue 1971-1972 Used
Specs
Original Harley-Davidson one-piece fiberglass "boat tail" rear fender / seat tail section from the 1971–1972 FX Super Glide — Willie G. Davidson's first factory custom and one of the most distinctive pieces of Harley styling ever made. The boat tail was fitted to all 1971 and some 1972 Super Glides before being dropped, which makes any original tail section a rare and collectible find today.
This is the blue with white stripe version (non–Sparkling America factory color). It's a complete unit: the fiberglass tail section, the ribbed black seat, the round taillight with chrome ring, the "SUPER GLIDE" badge, the red reflector, plus the inner fender, license-plate bracket, and mounting hardware as shown in the photos.
Condition — honest used: the blue paint shows age with scuffs, scratches, nicks, and some paint loss along the lower edges (see photos); the white stripe decals are present but worn. The seat is solid with light surface wear. [Confirm: original paint or repainted.] [Confirm: fiberglass is free of cracks / note any repairs.] Please study all photos closely — what you see is what you get.
A genuinely hard-to-find piece for a numbers-correct Super Glide restoration or a period-correct custom build. Sold as-is. Not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Harley-Davidson Motor Company; all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
